Houston’s newest 55+ community debuts in August with never-before-seen homes from Taylor Morrison and a weekend event that will surely create plenty of memories for visitors.

Bonterra’s grand opening is planned for August 2-3, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. A total of nine model homes will be available for touring, but that will just be the start.

“We’re planning on an opening weekend that really shows our homebuyers what Bonterra will be all about,” said Jim Ellison, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison’s Houston division.

Bonterra officials are planning plenty of tasty offerings for the opening weekend, including wine tastings, a balsamic vinegar tasting, a dessert station, assorted cheeses to sample plus much more.

Classic Corvettes will be on display throughout the model complex, along with boats from Freedom Boat Club and a live band to keep everyone tapping their feet while they experience the community.

Visitors will be able to enter to win a Woodforest golf gift package, Painting with a Twist party package and a grand prize trip for two to Fredericksburg that will include a Texas wine tour and dinner.

But while it may be hard to believe, the real stars of the weekend will be the nine different model homes that homebuyers will be able to tour, homes that encompass three distinct collections that will be available at Bonterra starting Aug. 2.

“These homes are very special to us,” Ellison said. “We’ve definitely done our homework to deliver the style and type of homes that our 55+ homebuyers are looking for in Houston.”

Three collections of homes will be available at Bonterra at Woodforest: the 45-foot Landmark series, the 52-foot Summit series and the 62-foot Pinnacle series, the largest homes available at Bonterra.

“Each collection offers its own unique take on the community,” Ellison said. “But the common thread running through all of them is the fact that we listened to what homebuyers want in each size home.”
